MCRB Responds to the Myanmar Government’s Consultation on Internet Gateway Services

MCRB has provided input into the Government consultation on Internet gateway services, (Deadline 31 January) with comments focussed on the privacy aspects of the proposal, namely that companies should submit data storage plans to government, even though there are no legal requirements for data privacy and lawful interception in place; and that companies should retain customer records for at least six months after termination of services.
The Government’s draft guidelines are available here.
