MCRB and others have commented on Coca Cola’s second report submitted under the US reporting requirements for companies investing more than $500,000 in Myanmar/Burma.

To date, 15 reports have been submitted to the US State Department and published online.  Donna Guest blogged for IHRB on the first Coca Cola report.  After two reports, the quality of Coke’s reporting is significantly more comprehensive than other companies who have filed, including Western Union, Aberdeen Asset Management and Capital Group companies, and demonstrates a commitment to human rights due diligence in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

On Tuesday 22 July, MCRB will issue its first Transparency in Myanmar Enterprises/Pwint Thit Sa report which looks at 60 of the largest Myanmar companies and what information they publish on questions similar to those covered in the US Reporting Requirements.
